1. Be a good human.
You can disagree. You can vent. You can talk about a bad symptom day, a frustrating setback, or something in the program that feels hard.
You cannot be rude, insulting, judgmental, hostile, or intentionally bring another member or program officer down. This applies to how you speak to and about other members, program officers, and the program.
Constructive feedback and frustration are welcome. Disrespectful or hostile behavior is not.
2. Share your experience, not medical advice.
Sharing what has helped you is encouraged! Recipes, products you love, strategies that made something easier, tools you've found helpful, questions to ask your provider, and your own experiences are all fair game.
But please keep it framed as your experience, not medical advice for someone else.
Do not advise members on medications, supplements, dosage, treatments, or other medical intervention they should start, stop, or change. Do not shame, blame, or fearmonger.
Program officers actively monitor the community and may step in or remove posts or comments when needed to keep the group safe and within scope.
3. Community support is not 1:1 care.
Ask questions! Program officers will help clarify the program and help you understand how its concepts may apply to different circumstances. For example: “I'm pregnant. How should I modify the Power Plate to fit my needs?”
However, the community isn't a replacement for individualized nutrition or medical care. Questions that require reviewing your full health history, symptoms, medications, labs, or other personal circumstances to determine what you specifically should do next are outside the scope of the community.
Those questions may require a 1:1 session or discussion with your healthcare provider.
Repeatedly using the community to seek individualized care beyond its intended scope may result in limits on participation or removal from the community.
4. Protect each other's privacy.
People may share vulnerable things here. Do not screenshot, repost, distribute, or share another member's posts, comments, photos, health information, or personal information outside of the community without their permission.
At the same time, this is an online community with other members, so only share information you're comfortable sharing with the group.
5. Keep Outwitting Autoimmunity inside Outwitting Autoimmunity.
Course videos, downloads, worksheets, educational materials, live-call recordings, and other paid program content are for enrolled members only.
Please don't copy, distribute, repost, share login information, or otherwise provide program materials to people outside the program.
6. No selling or soliciting.
No unsolicited promotion, affiliate links, pitching your own products or services, recruiting clients, or privately messaging members for business purposes.
Doing so may result in being removed from the community group.
7. Show up how you want others to show up.
Drop your favorite recipes. Tell us what worked. Share that win you're ridiculously excited about, no matter how small.
Cheer each other on. Celebrate when another member makes progress. Answer questions when you have a helpful experience to share. Give someone that extra nudge of encouragement!
The more we support each other, the better this community becomes. Show up for others the way you'd want them to show up for you.
8. This community is not emergency care.
The community is not monitored as an emergency or urgent-care service and should never be used for time-sensitive medical concerns.
If you believe you're experiencing a medical emergency, seek appropriate emergency medical care. For urgent or concerning symptoms, contact an appropriate healthcare professional rather than waiting for a response in the community.
9. Participation in the community does not establish individualized care.
Participation in the Outwitting Autoimmunity community and program officers' general educational responses within it do not establish an individualized dietitian-client or healthcare provider-patient relationship.
Any individualized professional relationship or services are governed separately by the terms of the specific 1:1 service you have purchased.
10. Program officers get to protect the room.
Program officers may moderate, edit, close, or remove posts and comments that violate these guidelines or are otherwise inappropriate for the community.
For most issues, you'll receive a warning and an opportunity to correct the behavior. However, depending on the severity of the behavior or repeated violations, program officers reserve the right to restrict participation or remove a member from the community without a refund.
A warning is not guaranteed when immediate action is appropriate.
By participating in the Outwitting Autoimmunity community, you agree to follow these guidelines and help make this a space people actually want to be part of.
